TiffDataSource over an in-memory TIFF — for byte payloads that already live on the heap (a WCS response, a test fixture, a small file on a platform without random-access I/O).

class FileTiffDataSource(file: File) : TiffDataSource

TiffDataSource over a local file, read through a RandomAccessFile so a tiled GeoTIFF is paged block by block instead of loaded whole — the point of the format for rasters that don't fit in memory.

A tiled GeoTIFF opened for pyramid access: the resolution ladder (full-resolution image plus every overview IFD), the georeference, and the sampling used to resample an arbitrary geographic sector into one engine tile.

Maps between a GeoTIFF's raster grid and geodetic coordinates.

class GeoTiffReader(bytes: ByteArray)

Cross-platform TIFF / GeoTIFF reader. Operates on a BinaryDataView over the raw bytes so the same code compiles for JVM, Android, JS, and iOS targets — no platform-specific DataView / ArrayBuffer / ByteBuffer dependencies.

Cross-platform TIFF writer for the engine's elevation cache. Produces a minimal but spec-compliant baseline TIFF: little-endian header, single strip, uncompressed, BlackIsZero photometric, single sample per pixel, 32-bit IEEE float values. Reads back cleanly through GeoTiffReader and any standard TIFF library.

interface TiffDataSource

Random-access byte source over a TIFF container. A tiled GeoTIFF is read block-by-block on demand — never slurped whole — so the same 2 GB orthophoto that would blow the heap as a ByteArray streams one 256×256 tile at a time through this seam.

One parsed TIFF Image File Directory — a single raster in the file. A pyramided GeoTIFF (a COG, or anything gdaladdo has touched) holds the full-resolution image in the first IFD and each successively coarser overview in its own IFD; GeoTiffDataset keeps them as a resolution ladder and picks one per rendered tile.
